Life-Story that Inspires Me

The individual lives are essentially filled with moments of optimism even though everyone moves ahead facing lots of hard times and personal difficult problems. In human society despite everyone being equal by birth later it turns out as unequal in the stratification and hierarchical classification. It is a story of a boy who found optimism in the midst of his apathy and injustice. Indian society is essentially united territorially as one unit and famously known for its ‘unity in diversity’, however it is broken into fragments along the lines of caste, class, race and gender. Such, stratification is essentially encoded severely from ancient times and practiced profoundly in social relations. The boy who was born as a lower caste, was treated unjustly with the practice of untouchability and was not accepted to be part of education. According to Manusmriti lower caste is not supposed to acquire knowledge as it was only a prerogative of the upper class Brahmins. He was denied to sit equally along with upper caste students and forced to sit in separately also he was not allowed to fetch water to drink in class, as the purity-pollution matrix was quite deeply encoded in social relations.

Despite such ill-treatment, he pursued his education and acquired his graduation. Later, with the assistance of humble beings, he got scholarship to study abroad in Columbia University along with several intellectual luminaries. And, his first paper was on “Castes in India: Their Mechanism, Genesis and Development”. He is none other than Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar who was the first ‘mahar’ to acquire higher education despite severe hierarchical stratification in society, also a ‘dalit’ who represented the status of lower caste people in Second Round Table Conference and architect of constitution of India. Life of Ambedkar gives the perfect example of optimism for our future.

As we are mostly turned down in the midst of difficulties we face regularly. He did not fight just for his own rights rather for entire unjust stratification and classification of society in several lines. He fought against injustice and inequality which is constructed in human society. As for him it is through liberty, equality and fraternity human individuals can progress not along the strict pursuance of hierarchical division. This story reflects that optimism for our future that despite in the wake of innumerable adversities, we could find the hope and optimism to move ahead and even beyond. Mostly we give up in the moments of adversity, however, it is those difficult moments which need to be traversed to touch the pinnacle. Success doesn’t arrive spontaneously, it need not to be tailored through arduous hard work. Though, everyone is born equally society is classified along several lines, it can be overcome with through every individual passionate labor. We can derive optimism for our future from this story, as everyone can attain dreams, with their continuous pursuance of their passionate dream in their respective discipline. It is sheer following up their dreams, despite several odds. Optimism does not come from outside rather we need to discover it in midst of every individual difficulties and problems.

Gaynodaya Trip: Rajasthan

We are essentially social beings, although there are contestations by scholars that human beings are political beings. It was indeed life’s one time moment when we got together along with people and we occurred to embark on an unplanned journey. It was in my graduation days in the Delhi College of Arts and Commerce when I got the opportunity along with my fellow NCC friends to be a part of an organized trip by the University of Delhi named ‘Gyanodaya’. The basic intention was to explore the myriad cultures and to understand the vastly diverse nature of India, in this trip the location spotted for us was the north-eastern part of state Rajasthan. The university was essentially funding for this trip, hence most of the NCC cadets were to be a part of it. The journey began from Delhi Cantonment station where everybody arrived. It turned out as a carnival when more than 1,500 students were going for a similar journey. As there were spectacular arrangements along with a structure of disciplined arrangements, since it was essentially organized by the military personnel and NCC cadets. Along with us two teaching professors were accompanying 25 cadets form our college. It was quite visible to see our train with unique arrangements and most essentially it was named as the ‘Gyanodaya Express’. The moment we were walking towards our train to get into our respective seats, we were glad to see a distribution of sweets and juice packets. Some of the cadets were playing songs while few were busy in collecting as much sweets as they could, and some got so busy in dancing that they ended up dropping their bags on platform!

The train finally departed as every college student acquired their respective seats. It was a great moment going together along with my friends. In the entire train speakers were installed to communicate with large number of students, however it was used to wish each other birthdays which mostly were bogus efforts to turn up their voice. We finally reached our destination, Ajmer, early next morning as we all moved towards our respective buses and here we were basically supposed to reach Army Unit that was supposed to display their weaponry and armaments. Most of the students were amazed with those gigantic armed machinery, however they were not much scared as everyone climbed over those armed vehicles and took their pictures, and this was followed by visit to the Ajmer fort.

Everything was going smoothly while travelling in the desert state Rajasthan until things took a wrong way in Jaisalmer when few students got sick and ill due to food poising. In our group along with myself, several others got diarrhea and felt uncomfortable with the journey. As one of the members got admitted along with other students and we got to know through local news reports in television. One of our friends gave a major statement regarding food arrangements and trip officials reprimanded him for this. It was a tough moment to continue the journey as everyone was feeling unwell in the mid of this journey. However, we students together stayed and said to continue as it is life’s one time moment. Later, the university officials sent doctors team from WUS, who distributed medicines while in moving buses and asked health conditions of every individual in this journey. Despite deteriorating health conditions we continued our trip and visited the Indo-Pak border post as well. As it was a collective decision and togetherness which made our trip to be a learning experience that by being together we could accomplish anything and turn worst conditions into favorable moments of our lives. With this we had successfully accomplished our journey and arrived safely back to Delhi.

A Big Life Changing Incident

Quantifying space Vs Creative space

Existence of humans is quantified in terms of ‘Life’. However, such quantification is only adequate to understand till it helps us understand the nuances of trajectory of individual lives. This is because human beings dwell around the space of perfection and quantified caliber.  Since similar perfection and caliber were not present, hence, I have opted to quit such quantifying spaces in our academic schooling.  Continuously for many years I have felt guilty for committing utmost blunders in my life. Along with others, I should also have been able to fight the battle in quantifying society. Rather, I chose to work in a cycle shop after running away from the horrors of quantifying space. It was an enchanting experience as every day and every moment I lived learning new things by repairing cycles. I realized how lives of poor revolve around the revolving wheels of cycle or rickshaw. However, there was a deep feeling of guilt tramping my soul. It was an awkward day when I took absolute decision to study again or to take a firm step to enter again into the quantifying space. So, I completed my schooling and also further attained my graduation in my major in political science.

Although humans are born only once in their lives, however they take a new birth the moment they take a life changing decision.  My decision to step again might have been to enter the quantifying space which I had earlier discontinued due to the failure of continuing with their quantifying credentials. In this moment entering again into such a space is not by burying my own individual creative space. Parasitic presence of quantifying academic institutions seems to be constantly working to diminish individual creative space. Still, there are those humble souls (parents and teachers) who constantly assist to move beyond such hindrances despite backlashes and failures. It was one of the life changing moments to experience the nuances of ‘life’ that we have to move ahead despite lashes and thorns by society as individuals fail to mould themselves into such prototype statues of quantifying institutions. However, mistake is a great teacher, as my firm decision to return back led me not to mould myself to their credentials rather to mould my own creative space.

Every individual is born with their own creative mind which needs to be moulded in an arena of creative space rather than in a quantifying space, battling to become a monolithic uniform human individual. The creative mind can grow in an arena of liberty and freedom of expression. To guide them to find ‘what they are?’ rather ‘what they should be?’... In nature, plant primarily grows when it is nourished with proper care along with adequate amount of water. We could see that every plant grows in myriad shapes and varied ways, they do not appear uniformly. In similar vein human individuals also need such care and nourishment who could grow with their own capabilities and uniqueness. However, major bottleneck is the structure of our quantifying society, which curbs and disciplines an individual’s creative potentiality. Therefore, the major decision in my life I took was to drop the spanner and whipping out grease on my hand, and started studying with passion by developing creative space.

Menstruability

Menstruability

Haunting and profound with twist in abdomen,
Sudden turn of events as red stain is blooming,

Pace of Body, gauged by society,
Space of body laid in ritual reality,

Dailiness of action whipped under taboos,
Do's & Dont's settled with mythical whips,

Assorting into tiny sconce in lunar days,
Laying formulas to touch or untouch is disdain ways,

Mythico-religious notions sunken the periods,
Will those cardinals solve weekly cramps?

Probably everybody scorn redness of red blood,
Dehumanize souls since everyone born in that same red blood,

Matrix of mythical morals entangled the body,
Disdain the space which lays in this reality,

Despite blemishes in my body, tangles horror with shame,
Will still dishevel those norms and transcend in this space

Honor & shame in following these beliefs of immorality,
Shedding off this myths with feather of menstruability.

Untouch those taboos dwells in society,
Begin new life touched with humanity.

(Will dedicate this poem to all women around the world, dwelling in mythico-religious society)

"Tragedy of born and unborn"

Whips and miseries drowning us every day,
Climbing tomb of developments faraway,
Poor sunken deeper into poverty,
Rich sailing in wealth healthily,
Skinned bones of undernourished is reality,

What is our development trajectory?
Poverty & Hunger are facets of development reality,
Deprivation or dispossession starving in their apathy,
Quandary of economic growth remains all the way,
Here destitution of needs is their fate every day,
Being cropped but constantly chopped every day,
Dwelling in such hell better to go away,
Fate of unborn is unborn till today,
Those who born are ill today,
Starving for death and corn every day,
Its tragedy of taking birth in this world today

Divinity with Humility

Human endeavors to constantly grow,
Encroaching with bulls & arrows,
Its temporal transcendence devoid of humility,

We can’t vow with forceful tow,
It is not something compelled to grow,
Instead it ascents in habitual row,

Not with modes and ways,
Not with rules and principles,
Unconsciously subsisting in low,

Is it covert or overt existence?
It is existence by being inconspicuous,
By being nothing but everything.

Blazing soul in benighted milieu,
Invisibly strives for humanity,
Strenuously and imperceptibly,

Passivity is not inertia to scorn,

Such inertia is demeanor of tolerance,
Aftermath of cession is humility

Heroism in life is within self,
A spark of divinity is humility,
Lightening humanity from below,

Endless Hopes in Myriad Ways

The people are united with hopes all the way,
All are together to create future possibilities everyday,
It shares equal feeling to suit everyone’s way.
Thou people come from myriad places from faraway,
But they share similar feelings towards
   everyone in a humanly way,
Everyone is equal as being part of it everyday,
It holds discussions and deliberations
   constantly on workdays,
Everyone comes beneath hut-circle
to resolve problems in the simplest way,
With unbridled assistance present around the way,
Its environ is wrapped in greenery,
As it uses everything in natural way,
In short it is modernity with traditionality,
Hence it creates endless hopes in simplest way.
